Bringing Sexy Back Again!

Sorry I've been slacking lately, been busy and no, I wasn't at WMC. Maybe next year? Anyway, wanted to come back with something good. Ciara's back, this time teaming up with Justin Timberlake with a super hot & sexy track, "Love, Sex, Magic". I just caught the video on Mtv just days ago, can we say "limber"? I think so.

If this track wasn't sexy enough, then you haven't heard the remix by Chew Fu. This man is the shit when it comes to remixes, he can do it all! If you have a lamp, not just any lamp, a sexy lamp! Now after peeping this mix, you'll put the lamp on the curb, seriously!

Love Sex Magic (Chew Fu Small Room Fix)

I also would like to apologize for the "Sexy Back" reference.

B. I. G. (1972 - 1997)

Today marked the 12th anniversary of the death of one of the greatest hip-hop legends, Christopher Wallace (aka: The Notorious B. I. G. or Biggie Smalls). Wallace was an amazing talent. His death was considered the death of hip-hop as well. I personally wouldn't say to all of hip-hop, but it's certainly not the it was back then. Still till this day, his murder has yet to be solved. Here's the video for his first hit off the 1994 debut release, Ready To Die.

Milke

Milke is back with a hot new track. You may remember their track, She Says, a few years back and if you're into breaks, chances are you were probably rocking out to it.

A Little Patience

Nick Lachey is back and set to release his second solo album, Coming Up For Air, due out in April. Patience is the first single off the album aready hitting the airwaves. Of the few remixes of this track, the only one that had stood out is the Mike Rizzo mix. In my opinion, the production works well with the vocals.

Currently in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, Kelly Clarkson is showing a strong "comeback" (for lack of a better term) after a rocky time with support of her last album, My December, but she's far from being a victim of the dreaded "sophomore slump". Here's a mix of her current hit, one of my favorites so far, hope to hear more.

My Life Would Suck Without You (Chriss Ortega Club Mix)

I'm starting to really like the soon to be former Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus. Slowly breaking away from the "Disney persona" just as Hilary Duff did, but I don't see Miley putting live scorpions down her pants anytime soon.

Le Passion, Yo!

Checking out what was in my email today and stumbled upon this gem. It's always pleasing to hear some actual intelligent hip-hop that's not all about the bling and the beats are like no other. Shunda K of Yo! Majesty, probably one of the best female rappers around today, just when it was thought the female MC was basically dead in today's game. This proves that they are out there, you just have to look for them. Look out for her on the next Outkast album. Le Passion, Yo! is a 4 track EP released by Shunda K teaming up with Brooklyn-based producer Kotchy. Dopeness! Rather just upload a zip file, I put the tracks up individually, in case someone doesn't like one of them. But trust me, you're going to like them all!

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Saturday Night Live alum, Jimmy Fallon made his debut as the 3rd host of NBC's Late Night (David Letterman, Conan O'Brien). His guests were Robert DeNiro, Justin Timberlake, and musical guest, Van Morrison. By the looks of it, the show's off to a great start, though a little rough around the edges, but nothing that can't be smoothed out in the future. I've always been a fan of Fallon since his SNL days and especially when took on as host of the Mtv Video Music Awards back in 2003 (The Year Of "The Kiss"). One of the best fixtures of the show is his house band, Grammy award-winning hip-hop act, The Roots. If you don't know The Roots, you need to! They are a true hip-hop talent unlike what you'd hear on the radio nowadays, just amazing! Though Conan O'Brien will surely be missed as host for 15 years, Jimmy Fallon's style and wit will easily have it's place as part of Late Night. Debut week continues tonight with guests; former co-star and SNL alum, Tina Fey (30 Rock), Jon Bon Jovi, and musical guest Santigold.

Grab The Popcorn... And Some Goobers

Intermission LTD is in full sail right now, shooting up the Beatport charts after only being launched in the fall of '08, but by no means are they ametures. Founded by my good friend, DJ/Producer, Dose The Alien (VisionaryMindz), who's been working his ass off lately and the efforts are more than paying off. Their 8th release entitled "Speaker Bleed" has prompted the idea of their first music video, already in the works and will make it's debut on Youtube March 12th. I hear it has something to do with puppets, and who dosen't love puppets? Can't wait to see it, but as Dose would say, "Wait for it...". Damn you!

From chill to minimal to dirty, glitchy, chug-funkin grooves, seasoned vet to the game, ATOM is one of my favorite DJ/Producers right now. With his various styles in music, you'll never know what tricks he'll pull out of his sleeve.

Keep It Classy

Don't know much about these guys, other than they're an electro-punk duo from Denmark. I just recently heard of them and quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Happy belated Valentine's Day! Yeah, I know I'm a little late and that's why I'm single. Anyways, here's a few remixes of the country hit. Not too bad, nice to see country music making it's way into the dance music scene.

Wild Things

Wild Things, a Cali-based (Bay Area) duo who just recently sent me an add request on MySpace. Great remixes, hope to hear more from these guys soon.

Forever (Wild Things Remix)
This one comes at bad timing. Not sure yet as to what is going on with the alleged assault charges, hoping that they aren't true, but it isn't looking too good. Either way, whether true or not, it's a shame. This post is about the remixers and that is all. Read more on this developing story here: Mtv.com.

I Was Looking At The Light...

Not even 2 days after the leak of actor Christian Bale's ripping an new one on one of the crew members on the the set of the upcoming Terminator 4 movie, someone had to go and remix it. It's one of the best rants since the infamous Bill O'Rielly

This comes in time just after Steven Colbert discussed remixing on his show last month.

24 Hours

Title track off the latest release from the legendary crooning ladies man, Tom Jones. This time Sir Tom takes a different turn with this one showing a different side that is rarely seen or heard. Very dark, yet somber, with a story to tell. Amazing song whether you're a fan or not. The album was released late 2008.

NEW YEAR, NEW SHIRT

Hey folks, I'm back! After a lengthy absence, I've decided to continue this blog. For the most part, things have calmed down a bit. There was just so much shit going on, but I'm good now. Hope you like the "new" look. I know nothing about HTML for Blogger, so no major changes.
So I really haven't found anything new, other than what's in my email. My apologies to the folks over at Fanatic Promotions, they've been great with sending some nice tunes. I'll try to make up for lost time and post some of the tracks they have sent me. So we'll start off with a track that's perfect for the start on the new year...

State Shirt (born Ethan Tufts), out of Los Angeles, is someone I have no clue who he is nor have ever heard of him, to be quite honest. But after a few listens, he's growing on me. Simply amazing indie rock at it's best! Ethan is also holding a remix contest, details are on his website. So far over 70 submissions have been posted, some are worth checking out.

Here are the first 4 tracks off his latest release (released 11/11/08)

Don't Call It A Comeback

I know it's been a while since posting anything, been really busy lately. Have had no time to blog and when I did, I forgot what I was going to blog about. It's just been that crazy. I did want to take the time though to mention the lasted from Britney Spears. Her eagerly awaited new album, "Circus" (appropriate enough), just dropped here in the US not even 2 hours ago just as the new Guns 'N Roses album (over 10 years in the making) "Chinese Democracy". But who really gives a shit about G 'N R nowadays? I had a chance to listen to "Circus", AMAZING! It may sound like another typical pop album to some, but it's a pop album with life. As much as I enjoyed "Blackout", "Circus" shows that Britney is truly ready to be back on her feet after a much trying time in her life in which she opened up about in the Mtv documentary "Britney: For The Record" that aired this past Sunday. In case you missed it, Mtv will begin airing it in it's entirety starting tomorrow at 8pm (est) on mtv.com.

I also would like to take the time to wish my friend Chris, an insanely obsessed fan, and Britney, a happy birthday. Both share the same birthday. Here's something I put together on gizmoz.com.

My Apologies

To anyone who has sent me emails to promote an artist and/ or whatnot. I haven't had the time to go through all of them and get them posted or even look for new music due to matters out of my control. It's been very hectic lately on the homefront between work and everthing else. As much as I would like to keep this blog as updated as possible, it's kind of hard for me at the moment. So please be patient and thank you.
